WHO IT'S FOR
International boys entering grades 8 – 12 can attend the summer camp to prepare for the SAT and school in the US.
To provide international students with a high quality English-language immersion experience. The skills learned over the summer will be very useful in all future schooling.
WHY IT WORKS
The statistics speak for themselves--- Grand River Academy has 100% university placement for all its international students.
The academic curriculum will focus on grammar, writing, reading comprehension, vocabulary development, listening skills and speaking skills. Cultural experience activities are integrated into the program. SAT Prep and TOEFL Prep will be incorporated into the curriculum
UNIVERSITY EXPERIENCE TOURS
Four university tours are planned for the summer. We are scheduled to visit The Ohio State University, Case Western Reserve University, Syracuse University and John Carroll University.
Grand River Academy is located in Austinburg in the state of Ohio, around an hour-long drive northeast of Cleveland, Ohio. Ohio is considered a part of Midwest America. Ohio has a temparate climate with the warmest weather in July, averaging 61°F (16°C) to 80°F (27°C). Located in Ashtabula County, which borders Lake Erie, Austinburg is a Northeast Ohio township with easy access to highways and nearby cities. Austinburg is a safe township with well-ranked education.
A wide range of on campus activities are available, including beach volleyball, tennis, basketball, weight lifting, horseshoes, ultimate Frisbee, disc golf, biking, cross country running and full use of the Bud Field Student Center.
Cedar Point Amusement Park, Cleveland Indians Baseball, Niagara Fall, Paintball, Golf, Fishing & Canoeing on the Grand River, Movie Trips, Bowling, Laser Tag, and many more.
FACILITIES AT GRA
The 200 acre campus is an ideal setting for the summer program. The Bud Field Student Center is a focal point of during free time. Andy’s Café, located in the student center, is a place where students can purchase snacks, drinks and other comfort items.
Students reside in dorms. Each dorm has a common room with a big-screen TV, and bathrooms with individual showers. When possible, international students will have an American roommate. Faculty dorm parents reside in apartments attached to the dorms and are available to the students at all times.
A registered nurse is on premises during the week, and there's easy access to nearby healthcare facilities.
Applications are accepted until the session is full. To ensure the availability of courses, early applications are advised. Interviews and campus tours can be arranged throughout the year. An admission decision will be made within one week of the school receiving all of the completed forms and application.Apply Now
