Health & Wellness at Grand River Academy®
At Grand River Academy, student health and safety are our top priorities. Our Health & Safety Center, located in Mastin Hall, provides care and comfort for students right on campus.
Our Health Center Includes
- 5 beds for students needing extended care or observation
- Waiting room and office suite for student check-ins
- Lobby, kitchenette, and TV lounge for comfort during recovery
- Study spaces so students can keep up with schoolwork and meals
Staffed by:
- A full-time Registered Nurse and an evening and weekend LPN.
- Licensed Clinical Counselors providing 24/7 support
Health Services
- Immunizations & Records: Scheduling, arranging, and reporting
- Emergency Care: Urgent care as needed, with parent communication
- Medication Management: Safe dispensing and refill coordination
- Appointments: Scheduling and transportation for off-campus visits
- Screenings: State-mandated vision and hearing checks
Mental Health Support
At GRA, we care about the whole student—not just academics.
On-Campus Licensed Counselors:
- Mr. Thomas Polak, LPCC, available 24/7 for students
- Additional licensed clinical counselors providing therapy and support
Services Include:
- Weekly counseling sessions
- Therapy support and guidance
- Coordination with parents and physicians
988 Crisis Lifeline Policy
To ensure that all students, faculty, and staff are aware of immediate, 24/7 mental-health crisis support through the national number 988 and understand how the school will respond when the hotline is used or referenced in campus settings.
- 988 is a free, confidential, nationwide service providing support by phone, text, or chat for people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress.
- It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
It can be used by an individual in crisis or by someone concerned about another person.
